Our college held a student backbone symposium and student organization training opening ceremony

On November 19th, our school held a key student symposium and the opening ceremony of student organization training. Dean Wang Yuan attended the forum and delivered a speech. Wang Fang, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the Academy, presided over the forum. Postgraduate instructor Zhao Zhihan, 2020 instructor Da Buyuan, 2019 instructor Shuai Yuting, and key students from the Youth League Committee, the Student Union, the Association for Science and Technology and the Graduate Student Union attended the symposium.
During the discussion, Dean Wang Yuan fully affirmed the format of this symposium, and emphasized that the core of each student organization is to work around the center of the college and actively serve the majority of students. It is necessary to continuously improve organizational functions, provide students with a better platform for activities, and create more excellent educational environment and learning atmosphere. Dean Wang also put forward three requirements for the backbone of the students present. Firstly, she hoped that everyone will not only play an organizational role in the organization of the event, but also strictly demand themselves and play a leading role in academic and life. Secondly, as the backbone of the students of the college, one should understand the history of hydropower, understand the historical responsibilities carried by the college, and inherit the fine traditions of hydropower. Thirdly, as a new era of water conservancy talents, everyone can representative of the college. We must be brave to innovate, carry forward the spirit of Hohai University, keep up with the trend of the new era, create special hydropower activities, and make a strong voice of the times.
The student representatives of the Youth League Committee, the Student Union, the Student Association for Science and Technology, and the Graduate Student Union used organizational functions and work experience as the entry point, and gave detailed introductions from various aspects such as organizational structure, activity development, academic guidance, and team building, and discussed the recent work of each organization debriefing and planning were carried out in turn.
This symposium set up a good platform for communication and interaction between the college and students, and pointed out the direction for giving full play to the function of student organizations serving classmates. In the future, the college will continue to carry out a series of training activities for student organizations and continuously strengthen the team building of student organization, to improve the backbone of students' work skills, and make unremitting efforts to cultivate qualified builders and successors for the comprehensive development of moral, intellectual, physical, and artistic.
